ANIMATION TIME!!

creating the piece

I decided to add a paper texture layer to the front of this and made it transparent, then moved it along at the same speed as the background layer, which i think gives it more depth.

Animation development

Here i was working out which layers had to move a diffrent speeds,
to give the right feel of distance.

i wanted things to pass in front of the biker, and to have a resturaunt scene or a horse and cart obscureing part of the view.

Character Design

I wanted to create some character that werent to much like the ones from my research but also were too much like a live trace. I wanted the figures to be of a simple stylized, this allows for easier movement well animating. i was to have most of the other characters to be stationary, and one or two of them would move slightly like the photographer would move her camera down and this was going to be a smoker as well.

Building development

original building drawings...

background buildings... all will probably be the same color(red).

STORYBOARD

Bruges photos

from these photos i will create the back grounds and forgrounds to animation.

The song!

the song its self gives me the impression of a very european esc town. sort of places like bruges which i will base my ideas around, due to the fact i went on a trip there just after i got the song for the project, and i found it perfect for the project.

thinkng somthing to do with bikes, old style ornate buildings and cannels of all which bruges had plently of....
for the animation im thinking somthing along the lines of the "kiss kiss, bang bang" style animated opening sequence and the "catch me if you can" opening...
... as i really like the stylized character idea.

second research

After seeing the premier of the film "Super" and more to the point the opening sequence i had a breath think about looking at a diffrent style.
The opening animated title sequence for Super.
i really liked the drawing style it gave off a warm and had a llight hearted  feel to it. although this would require alot of work to get it to look right, so i may go with somthing more simple and stylised.
